You are invited to this Saturday`s Flamenco Juerga!
A Juerga is a `gypsy party`. Entertainment is provided by the audience -- flamenco singing, palmas, dancing -- many of whom will be students with Alma de Espana, the local flamenco school. There will be opportunity for those with no experience in flamenco to participate, but if you prefer to eat the tapas and drink the sangria, no one will pressure you to do otherwise.
You can reserve tickets by e-mail or telephone, as you will see below.
I am writing to invite you to the Flamenco de la Isla Society's first Juerga - a Gypsy Party. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy flamenco music, Spanish tapas and excellent libations. This is not a concert! Rather, it is a chance to dance and sing fiesta pieces and share the joy of flamenco with old friends and some new folks too.
The event takes place on Saturday, July 17th, from 7:30 - 10:30PM, at Henderson Hall, 1632 Yale Street in Oak Bay.
I am writing to you now because we need to sell tickets IN ADVANCE. The good thing is, you can RESERVE TICKETS BY EMAIL through firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. OR CALL 250-652-5536. Then, we will have your tickets ready for you at the door.
Tickets are $15. There will also be Spanish Tapas by Ottavio's for a small cost. And wine, beer, Sangria and non-alcoholic options will also be available.
This event is a fundraiser for all the good things that the Society supports, including upcoming shows and student scholarships. Sorry, no minors.
Gracias y hasta luego!
